Liyuan Garden

Designs on the bridge into Liyuan Garden are a mix of traditional and surprising images:

(Right: A kangaroo in Kaiping?)

(Right: Looks like moose.)

What looked like props to a period film are actually items that belong to the original house.

(Right: The kitchen stoves.)
(Left: Squat toilets not for public use.)

 View from the top windows.
Looking into the garden.

Out in the garden, a souvenier tent and "tea house" that serves tofu dessert.  Tofu here is the speciality, supposedly extra good because it is made with water from the mountain.

Left: "Whip for Fighting Tiger" (currently with scaffolding) is part of the elaborate fengshui arrangements in the garden.

Construction on the edge of the garden.

(Left: Postcard shot)

Right: The Yupei Villa.

The Boy Bearing Well didn't exactly look to impressive, but many must have tried to get at the water to warrant the grill.

Chicken cages with lovely steps.
