Thank you again to Paul and Wendy for taking videos and photos (a rare few here are mine) as well as being fabulous supporters.
Silver Standard - Semi Final
Nine couples on the floor all attempting to do their own routines mades for difficult navigation. I could hear our awesome supporters yelling our number (64!) - reminding me to smile! (Videos by Paul.)
Waltz
Fox Trot
Quick Step
The camera catches Tony with a rare smile, and my (no-so-rare?) competition face (I was probably mouthing the song lyrics). Before awards, some photos with friends, and a bit of general dancing.

Tony and Ashley sizzled in their Rumba - unfortunately the video I took was too large to load here.
Jack and Jill - ... Quarter / Semi / Final
The unscripted competition started with MC Jim calling those interested to simply line up on the floor.
More than 3/4 of the people in the room lined up (above a section of the girls' side)! We were matched according to whoever was next in line (when actual partners managed to match up, the audience made their disapproval known - leading to a partner switch).
There were so many couples, Jim ran two heats of Jive where Delphine (Pro) and Steve (Am) were to "tap out" couples until a reasonable number were left (Right: Delphine gives me and Steve a glance, but we survive the first round). Much what happened next was determined by "applause-o-meter" readings from the noise the audience made: Which dances to challenge the dancers? (There were plenty of crys of salsa, but also at one point, "Australian Outback Dance" - which would have suited Steve just fine.) Who were the quarter-, semi-, and final-finalists?
(Left: Steve and I in our final dance [semi-finals] Both of us have tendency to look down).
Jim riled the audience and played things up - getting someone to bring a rope to tie Brian's arms to his body before letting him dance (to level the playing field). Brian was allowed to dance without the rope (since it was probably against some health and safety rule). (Right: The final dance off (a samba) between Brian & Angelyn and Alex & Sheena.)
As it does seem to happen, despite having all this space, the two couples still managed to (playfully) get into each others' way. (Left: So close, they probably could have swapped partners.)
In the end, again by applause, Alex and Sheena were declared the winners.
Bronze Latin - Results
The results matched the Standard portion.
Julie and Mike did wonderfully - placing third. Here they are showing off their medals.
Silver Latin - Results
Yay! Tony and Ashley won! Their hard work paid off.
