The Penguin Turns for Thee

I had no idea the scientists at the science station had would be so fashion forward.  But here, on our last-minute Antarctic Christmas shopping trip (it's a long story), I was pleasantly surprised.

Here the scientists are in their special protective gear along with masks to help them assimilate into the penguin group (right).

This tank held some of the penguins they have been studying and training (left).

In my mind, they were all exceptionally cute and well behaved.  Paul, however, did have a favourite - this little guy spun around and around for us.  (I'm sure Paul would have liked to take him home, but I'm sure that would have negatively affected the study - and what about House Hippo?)

If you're in the neighbourhood, definitely go by for a visit.  I'm glad we did.
